Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Service Specialist interacts with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services. They are responsible for warranty and troubleshooting services. They gather information by phone, through email or in person.
The job is a combination of time spent in the office at the EDI headquarters and frequent travel to jobsites. Travel (mostly domestic and to Canada) is estimated at 50%, but during peak times could be up to 75%.
The Field Service Specialist organizes, processes, and reviews warranty claims made by EDI customers in order to ensure parts and/or labor is paid for by the appropriate party (warranty or non-warranty). Ensure that all warranty paperwork is properly documented and that all verifying criteria needed by the EDI are processed correctly. They should also keep abreast of all company announcements, especially equipment changes, updates, or failures that could impact warranty claims. This position works closely with EDI departments to communicate recommendations for process and product improvements.
As the work, on occasion, involves dealing with fraudulent claims, the Field Service Specialist should have exceptionally high ethical standards, be able to discern the details of the situation and handle situations in the best interest of both the Customer and EDI.
The Field Service Specialist is considered an expert of the company and product and tends to answer many diverse questions, whilst improving overall customer satisfaction and in turn, increasing sales. This role requires expertise in Fracturing and IDEAL products.
High school diploma/GED required, plus two years industry-related experience related to wastewater, manufacturing, construction or the fabrication industry. Must also have OSHA 10 and Confined Space certification, TWIP card, passport or be able to obtain such within thirty (30) days of hire. Must be able to work independently with little supervision. Must be able to read and interpret EDI’s Bill of Materials, packing lists, manuals and drawings. Strong attention to detail, with analytical and decision-making skills required. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills required. Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills required, primarily Word, Outlook and Excel. Prefer experience in a time-sensitive, multi-cultural, customer-oriented business, focused on providing the products and services necessary to fill customers' needs on a timely basis. Salary commensurate with experience.
