EDI supports a self-service program for system designers and end
users. A vast array of resource information is available through
this self-service program. Click on the desired design tool or
submit your design request to EDI and an application specialist
will contact you regarding your application conditions.
NOTE: These tools are available to provide you with valuable design estimates only and should not be used for final production without first consulting with an EDI salesperson and/or application engineer to evaluate the exact specifications required for your process.
Aeration System Economic Analysis — Operating an aeration system is the single largest cost associated
with owning and operating a wastewater treatment plant. Use this
tool to make detailed estimates of total ownership cost considering capital, operating and maintenance cost. Tool is particularly beneficial in evaluating alternate technologies.
Activated Sludge Process Modules — This module is useful in sizing activated sludge biological processes. The model is specifically designed for nitrification and denitrification applications where ammonia conversion or total nitrogen removal is desired. The model may also be used to confirm the operating requirements for carbonaceous BOD removal systems. Use the model to evaluate an existing system or to size new biological reactors. In addition to reactor sizing, additional process requirements including solids generation and aeration system sizing requirements are also estimated.
Aeration System for Effluent Post Aeration — This module is provided to assist in sizing diffused aeration requirements for post aeration applications. Calculations estimate aeration system requirements including air flow, operating pressure, and diffuser requirements for specific flow and effluent dissolved oxygen criteria.
Aquaculture and Clean Water Aeration Design — Determine aeration requirements to maintain a constant dissolved oxygen. Module estimates air flow, operating pressure, and calculates the estimated number of diffusers required for the application.
Compressed Air Temperature Tool — Estimate the temperature of the compressed air entering the aeration system. This is particularly important in deep tank applications where the temperature of the compressed air exiting the blower may exceed the heat resistance capabilities of the piping and diffuser components in the system. Module estimates cooling rates in discharge piping between the blower and aeration system.
Aeration System Design/Diffuser
Design—Use the Aeration System
Design/Diffuser Design tool to estimate the
aeration requirements for common biological wastewater processes. The
tool provides information on the number of diffusers, total
air requirements, and approximate operating horsepower for
the aeration
system.
Aerated Lagoon Process
Model—Use the Aerated Lagoon Process Model to design
an aerated lagoon process or to estimate the performance of
an existing system.
Present Worth Analysis
of Energy Savings—The Present Worth tool calculates the current value (Present Worth) of operating cost savings over the project life. The tool is
useful to evaluate simple return on investment vlaues for high efficiency products.
Design Request
Form—EDI's
application specialists are available to assist in
the evaluation and design of a biological treatment
and aeration system. Fill out the Design Request
Form and submit to EDI, and an application specialist
will contact you.
