Field Service Specialist

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Service Specialist interacts with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services.  They are responsible for warranty and troubleshooting services.  They gather information by phone, through email or in person. 

The job is a combination of time spent in the office at the EDI headquarters and frequent travel to jobsites. Travel (mostly domestic and to Canada) is estimated at 50%, but during peak times could be up to 75%.

The Field Service Specialist organizes, processes, and reviews warranty claims made by EDI customers in order to ensure parts and/or labor is paid for by the appropriate party (warranty or non-warranty).  Ensure that all warranty paperwork is properly documented and that all verifying criteria needed by the EDI are processed correctly.  They should also keep abreast of all company announcements, especially equipment changes, updates, or failures that could impact warranty claims.  This position works closely with EDI departments to communicate recommendations for process and product improvements.

As the work, on occasion, involves dealing with fraudulent claims, the Field Service Specialist should have exceptionally high ethical standards, be able to discern the details of the situation and handle situations in the best interest of both the Customer and EDI.

The Field Service Specialist is considered an expert of the company and product and tends to answer many diverse questions, whilst improving overall customer satisfaction and in turn, increasing sales. This role requires expertise in Fracturing and IDEAL products. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify reoccurring problems/complaints with EDI equipment, instructions, or processes and process efficiently.
  • Educate employees, business partners, and customers about EDI products and services.
  • Ensure Customers have received proper instruction for the Storage, Installation, Operation and Maintenance of the EDI equipment
  • Communicate with Project Manager and Sales Team to ensure awareness of known additional/special field service requirements for a project
  • Provide Installation, Startup, and Troubleshooting inspections onsite where EDI equipment is installed, including subject expert on IDEAL and fracturing projects. 
  • Provide QA inspections for Aeration Works projects.
  • Provide Storage, Installation, Operation and Maintenance training to applicable Customers onsite
  • Provide technical telephone support to Customers regarding Inspections, Troubleshooting, or Training
  • Coordinate necessary information regarding Field Services between all applicable departments
  • Conduct Field Service Training program for internal employees as well as external Customers, Sales Representatives, and Field Service Representatives
  • Keep the Field Service Manager informed on progress or problems when performing onsite services
  • Document all site visits by completing the Field Service Trip Report template according to policy.
  • Manage expenses according to the “EDI Field Service Expense Policy”
  • Prepare, review, and edit service reports for internal and external review
  • Review, revise, and make appropriate recommendations for required checklists and documentation for completion of Field Service
  • Suggest improvements that could be made by the company
  • Be available for travel to jobsites  
  • Follow all company policies, assuring for safety
  • Perform other duties as determined by the Field Service Manager

 

Required Qualifications:  High school diploma/GED required, plus two years industry-related experience related to wastewater, manufacturing, construction or the fabrication industry.  Must also have OSHA 10 and Confined Space certification, TWIP card, passport or be able to obtain such within thirty (30) days of hire. Must be able to work independently with little supervision. Must be able to read and interpret EDI’s Bill of Materials, packing lists, manuals and drawings. Strong attention to detail, with analytical and decision-making skills required. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills required. Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills required, primarily Word, Outlook and Excel. Prefer experience in a time-sensitive, multi-cultural, customer-oriented business, focused on providing the products and services necessary to fill customers' needs on a timely basis. Salary commensurate with experience.

Warehouse Utility Worker

Reporting to the Inventory Manager, this position supports a variety of functions and will train to serve in several roles:

  • Material Mover - maintaining primary stock locations, stores incoming product, and ensuring proper rotation of stock, pulls stored material and moves it to production areas, will conduct monthly inventory audits, locations for count accuracy, accurately counts items and reports all material movement in Vantage. Will move & properly store finished goods as Production is completed on stock orders. Will fill inventory requests for Production, Laterals, Lab, QC, Engineering, and Aeration Works
  • Receiving Clerk – will assist EDI Receiving department in moving or pulling product. Will receive and put inventory away, receiving incoming material.  Will serve as Receiving Clerk during requested time off by Receiving Clerk.
  • Shipping Clerk – will help as needed during requested time off in the Shipping Department.
  • Will perform weekly cycle counts as directed by Inventory Manager.
  • Write up all non-conforming material and send to the designated QA location.
  • Assist in Pick & Pack.  Position will be trained to help during busy times or whenever someone is gone.
  • Responsible for processing the finished goods out of Perforation Department and storing them in locations within the main warehouse.
  • Responsible for maintaining empty boxes for recycle cardboard and office paper, and assist loading the truck with boxes of recycle paper.

 Minimum qualifications:  HS diploma/GED with 2-3 years manufacturing or warehousing experience and forklift experience/certification within the first 30 days of employment. Must be detail-oriented, display organization skills, be a team player with a customer-oriented attitude. Position also requires an expanded knowledge and performance of proprietary software.
