ModuleAir

Floating retrieval lines enable the self-contained assemblies to be craned out for inspection and maintenance. Dedicated supply lines and ballasts are built right into the assemblies, as is the pipe on which diffusers are directly mounted.

Streamline

StreamLine™ is EDI’s ‘Patented’ configuration with unmatched system simplicity, it results in up to 33% reduced system installation time compared to competing panel systems. Plus, membrane replacement can be completed in the field.

EDI fixed grid configurations are floor-mounted and ideal for concrete basins and steel tanks. Because they don’t move, they can support the highest-density applications in both municipal and industrial systems.

EDI Fixed Grid Piping Systems are ideal for conventional tank applications where access to the reactor for installation and system maintenance is available. The system is engineered for maximum long-term economic value and reliability, is based on design methodologies and system components specifically developed to meet customers’ needs, and is customized for each application.

The airflow requirement for each pipe section is evaluated and the appropriate pipe size is selected for low head loss. This helps ensure uniform air release between diffusers and a low system operating pressure. There is no size limit on drop and header sections. Distribution laterals for the DISC System option are commonly 3 inches (90 mm) and 4 inches (110 mm), though other sizes are available. Distribution laterals for the TUBE System option are available from 3 inches (90 mm) to 8 inches (>200 mm).

  • Fits 4”, 6”, 8”, 110 mm and 160 mm air piping—plastic or stainless steel
  • PVC construction for maximum chemical & UV resistance, and optional CPVC for maximum temperature resistance
  • NanoPore™ and MicroPore™ perforation options available to match oxygen transfer, airflow and operating pressure requirements
  • Simplex (single-arm) and Duplex (two-arm) configurations possible
  • Horizontal projected diffuser area for maximum OTE performance. System geometry supports high-density installations of over 65% (up to 80%) floor coverage
  • Non-buoyant & cantilever design for reduced stress on mounting connections and for water cooling

ModuleAir Retrievable Configurations

O&M made easy.

Diffusers that can be maintained when they need it make for

systems that work even amidst the toughest conditions.

When accessibility for inspection and maintenance is the priority and reactors cannot be drained, the ModuleAir™ retrievable diffuser system is the solution.

Floating retrieval lines enable the self-contained assemblies to be craned out for inspection and maintenance. Dedicated supply lines and ballasts are built right into the assemblies, as is the pipe on which diffusers are directly mounted.

What ModuleAir does

ModuleAir makes installation into (or maintenance in) an online reactor a reality.

Where online system reliability and operating performance are mandatory, EDI ModuleAir configurations are ideal for applications. The system allows individual grids to be installed, accessed, or removed without draining or taking the reactor out of service.

This system is available in varying diameters and lengths depending on application needs. Systems up to 60 ft (18 m) and air capacities up to 2000 scfm (3400 sm3/h) have been supplied.

For tank applications, the EDI ModuleAir system rests directly on the reactor floor. The assembly is typically lifted and dropped into position with an overhead crane.

For lagoon applications, EDI ModuleAir configurations are provided with adjustable base plates. The system is typically floated and lowered into position. Adjustable base plates allow the system to be leveled from the water surface.

EDI ModuleAir is ideal for single-reactor applications where online installation and maintenance is required. The aeration system can be pulled out for maintenance without having to drain the basin. Applications requiring supplemental oxygen supply, mixing, or energy upgrades are also suitable.

Standard material of construction is stainless steel. This provides the required structural performance to support large grids. Alternate construction materials, including galvanized steel and non-metal materials, are also available.

StreamLine is Aeration, simplified.

StreamLine® is EDI’s patented configuration with unmatched system simplicity. Resulting in up to 33% reduction in system installation time compared to competing panel systems. Plus, membrane replacement can be completed in the field.
